Michael B. Jordan Is Back In The Ring In The First Trailer For MGMs Creed III.
This time, Jordan’s Adonis “Donnie” Creed takes on actor Jonathan Majors’ Damian. As well as being the third installment in the franchise, it also had the added pressure on Jordan as his directorial debut.
“Me and him bonded in a way I never had the chance to,” Jordan said at a news conference Monday about working with Majors as a director. “It’s my first time directing that director-actor relationship. I really understand that now, and it’s a bond that will last forever. So I’m really lucky to have that gentleman by my side.” He also teased that Majors’ character, Damian, is “a pivotal person and a pillar” in Adonis’s life.
Jordan joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe with 2018’s Black Panther and coincidentally, he’s been up against other MCU actors several times Beliefs movies. Creed II‘s Florian Munteanu then appeared in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Ringswhile Creed III antagonist Majors is the MCU’s new major villain, Kang the Conqueror.
Jordan first played Donnie in the movie of 2015 Beliefs, by filmmaker Ryan Coogler. He went on to star in 2018’s Creed IIaided by Steven Caple Jr., before stepping behind the camera for the third episode, which comes out on March 3. Sylvester Stallone, who starred opposite Jordan as his classic character Rocky Balboa in the first two episodes, will not return for the third.
Creed III also stars Tessa Thompson, Phylicia Rashad, Wood Harris and Mila Davis-Kent.
Said Jordan of Thompson, who has been with him since the first episode as Bianca: “Trust is a huge thing, and having earned each other’s trust… And now entrusting her with a story was the biggest compliment she has given me yet. .”
