Eleven years after the release of Cat in bootsthe feline makes his grand return.
Written by Paul Fisher, the animated movie brings the cute cat back to the big screen with more action, adventure and comedic moments. The film also brings together an internationally acclaimed cast to voice the characters, including Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek, Olivia Colman and Florence Pugh.
Directed by Joel Crawford and co-directed by Januel Mercado, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish follows Puss (Banderas) on his epic adventure to find the mythical wishing star and restore his nine lives. After dying eight times, a doctor advises the cat to retire, but that’s an idea Puss has a hard time accepting. In an attempt to retire, Puss temporarily stays at the house of an obsessed cat lover, but while there, Puss meets Perro (Harvey Guillén). The feline then joins Puss and Kitty Softpaws (Pinault) on their trek through the Black Forest in search of the star. “When you only have one life, that’s what makes it special,” Kitty says to Puss movie trailer. During their journey, the trio faces several evil characters and obstacles, all of which threaten Puss’s life.
Puss has been featured in several movies over the years, including scream 2, Shrek the third and Shrek forever after. The feline then had its own spin-off in 2011 with Cat in boots. Now the story of the cat continues with Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.
