“Protect the rainbow. Taste the rainbow. But please don’t throw the rainbow,” reads a full-page print ad in the Los Angeles Times, Skittles announced Saturday. The ad is the brand’s latest response to Harry Styles having cones thrown at his face at a concert earlier this week.
On Saturday, the candy brand posted a similar image to social media, along with the tweet, “PSA: Protect your eyes from Skittles (by eating them, not throwing them).”
The ad features a pair of large heart-shaped goggles in homage to Styles’ “Watermelon Sugar” sunglasses.
Styles got hit with Skittles while performing “Kiwi” at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, on Monday night. Footage of the unfortunate moment circulated online, and by Thursday, Skittles posted a social media bulletin: “I didn’t think I should say this: Please don’t throw skittles,” the post read.
The singer has had several objects in his path during his Love On Tour, from chicken nuggets to an unidentified object that struck him in the groin area.
